2021 FIS World Junior/U23 Championships
Vuokatti, Finland

Feb 14, 2021 - Classic mass start day 15/30 km
This was a great day for Canada in Vuokatti, Finland! It was the last day of the championships, and everyone is tired from the previous days of racing but everyone still has a little something left. The day started with the 15 km mass start classic for the junior women. The wormen starting the race were Jasmine Drolet, Molly Miller, Alexandra Luxmoore, and Anna Pryce. The race was tough, but the women gave it their all. Jasmine skied to an 18th place, her best World Junior result so far. Molly finished 30th after giving it her all. Alexandra came forty-second, just behind Anna Pryce from Alberta.
The boys started the 30 km next. All of them started off extremely strong, staying within the lead group. Unfortunately, Joe Davies took a tumble and lost the group. Even after this, Joe stayed strong and skied incredibly well into a 31st place. Tom Stephen from Alberta was the star of the race, coming in 5th. Tom had an incredible race and hopefully more Canadians can ski to that level next year! The other two boys, from Quebec, skied into 26th and 32nd. Overall an amazing day for Canadians and a great way to close the Championships!
