2021 FIS World Junior/U23 Championships

Feb 14th, 2021 – Junior Long Distance Classic Races
One for the history books. Jasmine Drolet’s 18th place finish in the 15k classic race at the World Junior Champs in Finland is the best-ever result for a female athlete from BC!
The previous best was 23rd, achieved by Jasmine a few days ago in the 5k and tied with Elizabeth Elliott’s result from last year in the sprint event. (Jasmine is from Black Jack and Elizabeth is from Revelstoke.)
Molly Miller (Black Jack) finished in 30th today, making her the 2nd fastest female ever from BC in a distance event at World Junior Champs.
Alexandra Luxmoore (Revelstoke), finished in a respectable 42nd, racing against athletes up to 3 years older than her in her first WJC.
In the men’s 30k today, Joe Davies (Whistler) finished in 31st. Gabe Gledhill (from Strathcona and now racing for Great Britain as a dual citizen) finished in 41st. Congrats to Thomas Stephen from Alberta on his 5th place finish. (The 30k is the same event that Remi Drolet achieved a BC-best 4th place in 2019.)
