2026 FIS World Junior/U23 Championships

Today were the sprint races for all of the U23 athletes. All of them headed up early in the morning to prepare before the start of the qualifier while the rest of the U20 athletes decided to sleep in and catch up with them later. Breakfast was the usual, a seemingly unlimited assortment of foods all buffet style. After breakfast a few of us decided to head up to the venue to catch some of the action. While some of us went for a ski to prep for the 20km the next day, I chose to have a rest day to recharge for the coming days.
After all reconvening, we cheered on the U23 athletes who had qualified for the quarterfinals. They were really exciting to watch with lots of action in each heat! At the end of the day everyone was super excited, but also ready for a nap in the afternoon.
Once getting back to the hotel, before dinner, some of the athletes chose to get homework done and others decided to go for a walk or run. At dinner we all chatted about the day, before the team meeting where we got the hear from the athletes that had talk about the highs and lows of competition. Overall it was a super exciting day and we are all looking forward to what the next days can bring!
