Overlander Ski Club prepares to host Teck Okanagan Cup

(Kamloops BC) - Stake Lake trails will be a hub of activity once again this winter with a full slate of cross country ski racing from regional races to masters championships and the annual Loppet.

January 10th, 2015 kicks off the first day of competition when the Overlander Ski Club (OVSC) will host a Teck Okanagan Cup, the fifth race out of seven days of competition in the series. Athletes of all ages will take part in the day of cross country ski racing action. Start time is 11:00am Saturday.
Participants will be vying for individual results and club points earned through participation and placement. Top five finishers in Pee Wee category to first year Juvenile (14 years) will be awarded Teck medals and ribbons. Cross Country BC tracks the accumulated points for each club through the Teck Okanagan Cup Series and presents the club with the most points the Teck Club Aggregate Award at the series finale. The final races of the series will be hosted at the Nickel Plate Nordic Centre near Penticton on January 31st - February 1st weekend.
