31st Kelowna Apple Loppet – Sunday, January 29, 2017
Participants of our 31st annual Apple Loppet can ski this 30km race as an individual or as a two-person relay team. Individuals participate in a skiathlon comprised of 15km classic, transitioning in the stadium to 15km free technique. The relay has the first person skiing the 15km classic, tagging off to the second person who will ski the 15km free technique. There are also 200 meter, 1 km, 3 km, 6 km and 7.5 km events for 3 to 17 year olds, and a 7.5 km recreational race for adults. Race entry includes complimentary lunch.
Back again this year is the popular “race within a race”. There will be special prizes awarded for the overall King and Queen of the Mountain (1 km classic hill climb) and the KamikazHe and KamikazShe run (1.5 km free downhill). We have tightened up the Kamikaze run this year so you can really test your nerve to clock the top speed!
Finisher awards for all youth participants and top 3 for all 30km race categories.
