1st:  Zone 2 (Thompson/Okanagan) - Julia Brown (Larch Hills NS), Simon Blackie (Revelstoke NSC), Hanneli Ladyman (Overlander SC), Ian Oliphant (Sovereign Lake NC)
2nd:  Zone 6 (Vancouver Island-Central) - Stephen Lamon, Emmy Stapff, Amelia Wells, Aiden Noble (all from Strathcona NSC)

Coast Capital Savings Bursaries:  Molly Miller (Zone 1 – Kimberley Nordic Ski Club) and Lucy Elliott (Zone 2 – Larch Hills Nordic Society) were two of the 16 bursary recipients selected from across British Columbia for your outstanding athletic abilities, academic excellence, and community involvement.

WR Bennett Award for sports and academic award for excellence - the recipient was Molly Miller (Kimberley Nordic Ski Club).  More information will be posted on the CCBC website as available.

BC Games Society Media Release:
CROSS COUNTRY SKIING: Longtime friendship helped Mikayla Richens and Haley Olinyk capture gold Saturday in a cross-country skiing event at the Penticton 2016 BC Winter Games.
Richens guided Olinyk, who is visually impaired, to victory in the five-kilometre para category of cross-country skiing at Nickel Plate Nordic Centre, clocking in at 44 minutes.

"(It’s) such a positive experience, helping your best friend reach the finish line,” said Richens, who has been friends with Olinyk since Grade 3.

Zone 2 (Thompson/Okanagan) leads the individual medal count with six, followed closely by Zone 6 (Vancouver Island-Central) and Zone 5 (Vancouver/Coastal) with five each.  Zone 8 has three medals, and Zones 7 and 5 have two each.
